Removed Heater Unit

Spent a little time finishing off the tear down of the interior. The last item to be removed was the Heater Unit. I had to remove the unit with the hoses attached ( I had to pull them through the firewall) as there was some corrosion from a possible leak and I could not get the clamps undone. While I have the unit out of the car, I will clean it up and get the heater core tested for leaks, or more likely, just get it re-cored. The case needs a little work and the valve might have a leak.

Penny and I also spent a little time trying to remove the contact glue from where we had pulled out the vinyl. We tried first with metho, but this did little to help. We moved onto thinners; this helped a bit, but we were getting head spins from it faster than we could remove the glue. We’ll have to find something else that can do the job a little easier. A fellow 240Z owner, Nigel, mentioned using prep-sol. I’ll have to look into this and see what it can do for us.
