The Guards are on
Spent the day playing around with getting the guards lined up. Dad got some sponge earlier on in the week to use on the inside of the guards. He also pitched up and fish oiled the front end of the car (under the scuttle panel, etc).
The Guards lined up pretty nicely with only a few minor adjustments being required. The gaps all look nice and even and the front of the guards and the bonnet lines up more or less spot on. We’re still not 100% happy with the height of the bonnet towards the back, but I think that with some adjustments to the latch the problem should be fixed.
Next, I’ll spend some time sanding all of the surface rust that has developed since stripping the paint and treating it with some rust converter. Then we’ll be ready to do the final beating and shaping before putting the first coat of paint on her.
