That bonnet, it just looks wrong.

Dad decided to start doing a little investigative work on the bonnet today. He used a little paint stripper to see what was under the paint. He had always looked at it and commented that it just didn’t look right.

Well, under the stripper he found body filler, and lots of it. He gave up with the paint stripper and resorted to the disc sander. Didn’t take him long to work out that the nose was covered with the stuff. We’ll have to decide what we are going to do, keep on stripping it, or get a replacement.

Out for a spin

In the Beginning

Took some “before” shots today. There is not going to be much work done for a while. My wife has just completed her PhD and we are heading off on a holiday to Cairns to celebrate. When we get back I’ll be helping Dad to clean out the garage so that we can start doing working on the Z.

The Dream is coming true.

Today Dad and I jumped on the ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff to buy the car. I asked Peter if he could drive the car to the ferry so we didn’t have to take our car over. He was quite willing to help us out. Read the rest of this entry »

Well, the ad for the 240Z in Leopold re-appeared, and this time the asking price is $7500. I decided to ring Peter and make an offer for the car. I offered him $6000. He said that was the lowest that he was prepared to go. He accepted the offer. I told him that the offer was dependant on what Dad thought of the car when he viewed it.
