Yesterday I placed an order for all of the missing badges and the rear strut tower caps. I should hopefully get them within the next two weeks. Penny went to RareSpares today and picked up the rear hatch panel. It’s a bit rough, but it should do the job. At least we will be able to get rid of those rust holes properly now.
I continued to strip the car today. I focused on the rear quarters as we were worried about hidden surprises. Luckily, they look pretty good. There were no rust holes in the panels. The only place that I did find a little trouble was in the sill in front of the wheel arch. There was a bit of bog and a little rust showing. the passenger side was worst off, with a few holes under the bog. We’ll have to get the bog off and see how much we need to patch.
Started to focus on getting the new bonnet to fit onto the body properly today. During the previous work, we had noticed that the front of the car, on the driver side, has evidence of being in an accident. Nothing peculiar about that happening to a Z 😉

Dad bought some paint stripper and restocked up on thinners for me. He decided to start some stripping to see how it was going to go. He started work on the tailgate as we need to get it back to metal to do all of the repairs on it. He has done a bit of it, but there are a lot of coats of paint. It is going to be a slow and tedious job that must be done to get the job right.
